King William IV Angling Society

Coaching

Recent times have seen the creation of a new National Governing Body
for Angling, this is the Angling Trust.

To comply with the advice given by the Angling Trust the club have adopted
a coaching policy and we currently have two licensed coaches.

The qualifications our coaches have are at level one and level two,
The coaches have attended courses and qualified at their levels. Their
qualifications are through the UKCC (United Kingdom Coaching Certificates)
This month three more volunteers from the club will be attending a level
one coaching course.

The benefits:
   • Structured and recognised coaching
   • Insurance cover
   • First Aid trained
   • Criminal Record Bureau checked
   • Child Protection trained

Since Easter 2009 both the club coaches have been actively coaching on a
regular basis. Working in Boggart Hole Clough and forming a junior section to
the club, regular Saturday morning coaching sessions have been extremely
popular and in early September the newly formed junior section held a fur and
feather match.

October will see the coaches opening the Boathouse at Boggart Hole Clough
in the winter evenings to go through some classroom based training on:

   • Rig making
   • Knots
   • Countryside code and the environment
   • Fish identifications
   • Tackle set up
   • Fishing and the law
   • DVDs on a variety of angling topics

If you want to know any more about the clubs coaching activities or you may
want to speak to a coach about personal tuition, contact the clubs head coach
Tony Campbell on 07792909849 or through E-Mail at fishingcoachtony@googlemail.com
